Chair Yoga promotes health and independence for people with chronic conditions and/or impaired mobility, or simply advanced age.
In this sessions we tackle all aspects that we normally work with in a general yoga class, that is, a breathing practice followed by chair-seated warm ups, modified asanas, (postures), and a concentration/guided relaxation at the end. Depending on the client's or group's ability, we may also include standing postures.
I teach several weekly chair yoga sessions at care homes and day centres, thanks to its success word got out and other private chair yoga work began to pop in. Clients love it, and I've found that working with the elderly is a hugely rewarding and humbling experience.
I am certified in teaching yoga for people with physical disabilities and experienced in teaching people with deep learning disabilities.
